Final Episode - Linux on the Desktop

It’s official I had to pull the plug on Linux on the desktop Podcast. I had many interesting things in the works and I had quite a large audience for a computer podcast. But, being disabled from progressive multiple sclerosis with escalating medical bills it became apparent that I could no longer fund the operation of Linux on the desktop. I never accepted advertising money because I always wanted the show to be as objective and unbiased as possible and independent from outside sources. So, I planned on using the proceeds from the sale of my Linux Desktop For Beginners book as the way to fund the operations of the Linux on the desktop Project, but there was absolutely no interest in a book for people new to Linux and Open Source. The reason why I think there was no interest in my book was the fact that the audience that Linux on the desktop drew were knowledgeable Linux users and not people new to Linux. It’s unfortunate that the show didn’t attract more people new to Linux. But, that’s the way things went. The party was great while it last and I really enjoyed doing the show and the challenges that I was confronted with while writing an introductory level book on Linux.

Best Wishes To All,

Marland Dunn
